WINTEB type approved IMO3573 “watertight” air vent heads (automatic closing devices)

WINTEB is the first and till now only air vent head producer in the world that has received the IMO3573 type approval.

IMO3573 allows designers to mark air vent heads (officially APF, automatic closing devices Preventing progressive Flooding) as “watertight” with regard to the probabilistic damage stability calculations.

For our customers this means;

1. New build projects. The WIN2000HIAS air vent heads size DN50-250 are IMO3573 type approved. They will be fitted with a tag with an unique number for traceability purposes.
   Sizes DN300-400 are being tested at this moment. We will keep you updated.
2. Existing ships with WIN2000HIAS air vent heads on board. These vent heads need to be inspected and after approval they need to be fitted with a tag (supplied by WINTEB) with unique number for traceability purposes. So no need for buying new air vent heads.
3. Existing ships with WIN2000 type 1. These vent heads need to be inspected, approved and fitted with a new sealing set (similar to the ones used on the WIN2000HIAS) after which they need to be fitted with a tag (supplied by WINTEB) with unique number for traceability purposes. So no need for buying new air vent heads.
4. WIKO5000-1-A air vent heads (side flange models) size DN50-250 are being tested at this moment. We will keep you updated.
