Winteb and Damen recently signed a contract for the supply of air vent heads for the new Combat Support Ship (CSS) destined for the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN). These are the latest generation of air vents that are produced by Winteb in its own production facilities in the Netherlands. Delivery is expected to take place in May 2021.

An active member of the trade association Netherlands Maritime Technology, Winteb has grown into the world’s largest producer of seawater-resistant aluminum air pipe heads, making it a well-known player in the maritime market. Over the years, the company has proven to be highly innovative by responding to the needs and wishes of their clients and the maritime market with their product designs. Combined with the high-quality level of their product range, more than 60 years of experience, in-depth knowledge and a high level of service, Winteb delivers customer-oriented solutions all over the world. The head office is located in Winschoten in the province of Groningen. Winteb also has a facility in the United States.

Winteb and Damen have a long history of working together. Winteb has been supplying air vents to Damen ships since the late 1980s. Virtually all newbuild ships of the RNLN built by Damen are equipped with Winteb air vents. The Winteb air vents are cast from seawater resistant aluminum, while other companies still use cast iron or steel. Due to the use of seawater-resistant aluminum, the air vents have a lower weight and are extremely durable.
